Going For The Giant Spread or The New England Nooner?

Going For The Giant Spread or The New England Nooner?Still want to take the Giants at +12???… Vegas is tempting you, but are you going to bite? Or what about that 53 ½ over/under??…I’m sure that under is looking REALLY good to you. Plaxico Burress, of the NY Giants is predicting a Giants 23-17 win, which would satisfy both of those bets, but is it really a sure thing?

Hello folks, its Glen Paddegit again, and I’m here to tell you why betting the Giants and the under is not as fail-safe as it seems. The geniuses in Vegas who make the spreads each and every week—better yet, each and every DAY on every single sporting event happening throughout this beautiful country of ours, know what they’re doing. If you take anything from this article, take this –Vegas knows what they’re doing. They know that people like me and you will bet on the Superbowl, but will wait till the weekend of the event, to make that bet. So, it was no mistake that the initial line favored the Patriots by 14 points, an unheard of spread for a game which is supposed to be between the 2 “best” teams in the NFL. It’s also no surprise to me that only a couple of days later, the line went down a full 2 points to 12. This may sound like a whole lot, but it is still less than 2 touchdowns. See, Vegas wants—rather, would LOVE–to see everyone bet on the underdog Giants. They want the world to jump on the Giants bandwagon, led by Eli Manning, the man who not too long ago had to prove that he even deserved to be a starting quarterback in this league. They adored seeing Tom Brady walk around in that bootleg “cast” (pardon the pun) and hearing the cocky Giants joke around during media week as if they actually were the 2nd best team in the NFL.

Now’s the time where I will point out that I am a DIE HARD Giants fan, and have been one all my life, through the Danny Kanells, Dave Browns, and Kerry Collins’s. Through the lowly Kent Graham and the even lower botched field goal attempt in San Francisco. The reason why I am so critical of them is because I have seen every game, and I’m seeing the luck go their way for a change. Think of it as Steve Jobs pointing out the iPhone’s flaws while everyone else is praising its strengths. No one is more critical of his baby, than the creator.

In Green Bay, Eli proved that weather is no problem for him, but no one has ever considered the fact that maybe the weather affected Tom Brady. Maybe it’s no coincidence that the Patriots DESTROYED every team the first half of the season, and then as the weather cooled down, so did the Patriots. (And don’t give me that nonsense about how teams found a “blueprint” to beating the Patriots, because I’m not buying it.) Bottom line, the Patriots need to win one more game to go down as the greatest team in history and they’re playing a team that just barely made the playoffs to begin with. To quote former Arizona Cardinals coach, Dennis Green, the Patriots “are who we thought they were!!!!”…Meaning: they’re looking to stomp all over the Giants in Superbowl 42, and they’re not going to give any mercy….Oh, and if you’re wondering what my Superbowl picks are, I’ve got my money on the Giants and the under.
